Default PIAA corners: poor quality

I wanted some good corner bulbs for my car using the wedge bulbs and everyone reccomends PIAA.. well here is what happens when you use PIAA after a couple months...

Yikes! I've never seen that before. I expected better quality from the price of PIAA. Are you sure there wasn't any water contact or anything?

umm this is weird, i have never seen that on the piaa before. seems like it's caused by heat.... it's a very small and pretty well insulated housing? and the place you inserted this bulb, you are supposed to use a 5w bulb there right?

My observations show that this is typical with Piaa on this size of bulb. The problem is they paint these.

I bought these at the same time with my 1157 Xtreme Whites to match the 194 Xtreme Whites (which they don't, the 1157 are noticeably greener). The 1157's are still there, and I'm on my THIRD set of PIAA 194's. I've just accepted the fact that these don't last and they are disposable. I think the 1157's are colored glass that's why they've lasted.

My PIAA Xtreme H3's for the fogs are flaking too. I suspect it's overheating. Some housings hold in heat more than others so maybe that's it? All I know is the 194's don't last over 6 months in my Celica.

I've decided to just stop using them all together. Not worth it. You just look stupid as it flakes and one light is a different color from the other side.

My experience is with the Xtreme White line of bulbs...

I do have the Ion Yellow H3's in now and they seem to be working fine. I haven't pulled them out since I installed them new so I can't report on their condition. They seem to be working fine tho.

maybe the oils from your fingers from installation? i know that a lot of bulbs you buy, they recommend you not to touch the bulb with your bare hands. just a thought...

FYI.. my piaas are just fine.
