Default HID question - SORRY!!

OK,

You are gonna hate me for this but I am confused.

Is the ballast what will be 8500k or is it the bulb or both?

Basically, I have 2 bulbs, 1 working ballast and one non-working ballast. I was told they are Hella 8500k and the ballast had fried. What do I need to do to get 2 working HID's!!??

So please help and keep the "you're an idiot" to a minimum!!

Peace,

Jonny

The color rating is with the bulb. You just need to get a new ballast if that is truly the problem.

Electro,

Hey man - thank you for your imput. I bought my car from a member of these forums and he told me they are Hella 8500k. I don't see Hella written anywhere on them, in fact, there is nothing written on the back of the ballasts.

I guess I just need to start from scratch but unfortunately I don't have the $$$$ right now. I guess in the mean time I am stuck with one purple and one yellow headlight

Peace,

Jonny

i have also heard that with anything higher than 7500k, coz' they are so dim, the ballasts are different that will push out more current for brighter bulbs.
