PIAA Xtreme Whites are great bulbs, they sell for around $65/set or so.
Sylvania Silverstars go for $40/set or so. Pretty decent bulbs but not as white as Piaa's IMO.
I've ordered H1 bulbs for the low beams of my LX470 (00) and I've chosen the PIAA Xtreme White Plus- are they really that much better than the Sylvanias? They seem to be both at 4000K rating but they say the PIAAs have this 55w=110w lighting capability. What does that mean?

If you buy the PIAA extreme white bulbs, do you need to get new wiring harnesses? Or are they exactly the same drain on the system but just brighter than OEM bulbs?

Thanks.

PIAA Xtreme white bulbs are the same wattage as OEM, but produce the equivalent to 110w bulbs in color...so no, you don't need to get a new wiring harness if you're going with PIAAs.

A 87MB E-class will melt down without any mods just because it is a benz...............

BR1AN , You must always make sure that the wire is the right size before any wattage up grade.

....and you are right nothing on the market right now is better than HID.......unless you burn-up a ballast or two....

If expensive is not an issue........

Try Junction Produce bulbs. I have replaced almost every bulb inside & outside of my car w/ JP bulbs. They are bright & I dont have that yellowish color on any of my bulbs anymore. They also make LED bulbs now.

Wow, the PIAA extreme white look amazing compared to the side lights. Does anyone know whether you can change the side lights to match the PIAA extreme white? Now that would look even better.

Could be any one of these, but most likely the PIAA Xtreme white ones:

i tried to match my headlights to the piaa xtreme white blubs and the did not match at all.
those bulbs are actually quite blue and made my headlights look yellow again compared to them.
I had to take them out and decided to put them for my rear licence plate. here's a pic of how blue they are in the back right now.

I also tried white leds (not piaa) and they are too white/purple

If anyone has a combo of these lights that match, let me know
