Default Projector Expert!

Does anyone know if X5 projectors will fit in the SC4 projector housing without alot of cutting. I am tired of halogen and I am ready to go Xenon! I know that a retrofit will be a time consuming project but it has all the reward I need. Also does anyone who have done a retofit know if the leveling device for the existing projectors will work for retofitted projectors!

yes will fit. but will require cutting. This is 100% for sure fact. the E39 projectors are exact same size as stock.

DO you know anything about the auto leveling bracket that come witht the X5 projectors? Can then be retrofitted also. So the X5 and the regular 5 series have the same projectors?

yes 5 series and x5 are exact same projectors.

You will not be able to use the autoleveling because autolevling is much more complicated than just that small motor on the projector, Its something that is mounted on the front and rear of the car that measures how flat the car is.

So will the stock leveling device suffice?

no. Do a search. Lex400sc has an extensive writeup. Intellexual.net also has some info.

Yeah...everything they said should suffice. The autolevel feature is so complex...your lexus dealer will flat out tell you that its not worth the effort. Sensors have to be installed at each wheel. In addition, a leveling computer needs to be installed. In addtion to that, just like with Navi systems, a vehicle speed sensor device needs to be installed to that portion of your electronic system to give the car accurate readings. Just do a retrofit using the Hella Bi-xenon projectors. These are a dime a dozen today and are the newer and improved version of the older E39 units everyone is mentioning. I just saw a set sell on Ebay for about 100 bucks yesterday. Damn I wish I was in the market for those nowadays cuz this time last year when I grabbed a set from an Audi RS6, I spent twice that. You won't be dissappointed.

Here's some pics....

Did you do the retrofit yourself on the ES300? Also has anyone else know exactly how much cutting is involved I tried to get in contact with Lex400sc but he never replied back awhile ago?
