Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if LFA has cylinder deactivation?
The reason why I am asking is, I remember watching the #003 LFA video and as soon as he switched to auto ('normal' mode), the owner showed a message in the middle of gauge cluster saying '5 cylinders idling'.
Why did it say '5 cylinders idling', if it was not deactivation message? Just wondering if someone has any info on this.

Yes only when in regular drive mode. When you're stopped at idle, the 1LR-GUE will operate only in 5 cylinders, but will resume to full 10 cylinders when you accelerate.

Thanks. I learn something new about the LFA everyday.
It will deactivate 5 cylinders on normal auto driving mode when stopped at a light. However, if you slightly move up it'll reactive to 10 cylinders and won't go back to 5 cylinders unless you accelerate again and stop. LoL
Crazy, I hadn't noticed the i8 in your signature before.
Please tell us about your experience with the car.
I just picked up the car this past weekend. It is a very interesting car to drive. It feels light, quiet when in electric mode, and more comfortable on roads than the LFA. On sport mode the synthetic engine noise similar to an inline 6 are pumped into the cabin which sounds sporty enough. The
seats on the car are comfortable, however the rear seats look like only children or a child in a car seat would be able to sit comfortably. The plug in port looks very similar to a Prius Plug-in which makes me think maybe there was some Toyota collaboration or parts used for this car. Overall I think it is a great car especially since there are really good deals to be had on them.
We are not likely to see many garage pics like the ones you shared.
Interesting to hear deals are to be had on i8 as they had been fetching premiums in the past. they are really interesting to look at with all the architectural design details. The rear quarters are sinuous.

the initial batch who paid 100k+ markup for the car must feel quite stupid now. from the get go i couldn't understand the high price already let alone the insane markup. now the true price is showing. there are bunch of them around and dealers are discounting them badly

True bud! I think the car is actually fun to drive and it does have a presence with the unique styling and the doors. Now let me drive your NSX!

hehehe do i get to pick from your list too?
don't get me wrong, i think the i8 is a very cool car, very futuristic, awesome doors, etc... just didn't understand the crazy hype in the beginning and now the huge drop in price (compared to prime) is a scary thought
