I wish Lexus LFA (especially the blue one) had been included in this lap comparison.

Afterall, all cars were driven by Ben Collins (ex-Stig) who called Lexus LFA his "favorite supercar":

Default Lexus LFA gets broken down by Translogic

Lexus LFA gets broken down by Translogic

Bradley Hasemeyer has driven some unique vehicles. We've seen him take the helm of a Tango EV, the dolphin-shaped Seabreacher and the electric Z-Kart. Now, Hasemeyer gets behind the wheel of a vehicle that hits a little closer to our Autoblog hearts, the Lexus LFA.

Don't expect a smoky, sideways review of the car – after all, this is Translogic, and the gist is to dive into the technology behind the machine. What you can expect, though, is a well-made video filled with great information..

I hope that was not a factory 458.

Must be an old video. The Lexus rep said there were only 2 LFAs in the US.

If they shot it in approx. mid December 2010, then it's right... They were using Pearl Yellow LFA P014 in the video..
(prototype)

If you guys can catch the mileage, you might be able to tell when it was filmed.

There are lots of spliced videos and pics of other LFA's in this video too..

What I want to know is if Ferrari employees were behind the scenes tweaking the 458 making sure it won the comparison.

That must be assumed of any Ferrari comparo involving a non-customer car.

Did Ben say that the GT2 RS is the only car in this group that can do multiple laps without overheating brakes and engine?

Carbon brakes must be the reason. Thought the 12c and 458 came with them as well? Optional is probably the key word.

This video was taken at MFest in Las Vegas and driven by Pro Drifter Tommy Suell. He made a good point about lapping BMW with slick tires while the LFA is running great on Potenza S001's.

I've had the opportunity to meet and have a few dinners with Akira Iida. He's a fine driver and a real car nut. He's even used my Corolla GTS in a drift competition just for laughs back in 2001. Great guy to hang out with, lots of fun and very open minded person. Note in this video, that he's just quiet, having fun with the car more than the passenger...you can tell, the LFA is THAT GOOD! LOL!
I love the LFA too, and San Francisco city streets and Infineon Raceway was a fine venue for my two day test drive.
