Actually, the LP560 makes 560 HP so HP is very similar, but the LF-A is close to 300 lbs lighter and has a better weight distribution than LP560.

You should remember the LP560 has AWD, which gives it a masssive advantage in the wet over the LF-A. In the dry, the LF-A will beat out the LP560.

I'm not sure about being 3 seconds faster in the dry though. It was wet, but it wasn't pouring rain. Looks about as wet as the Gallardo's run. It definitely had to be faster than the Gallardo though. 200lbs less with ~60hp more ought to do it!

nobody can give you proper answer... all you can see is the video and the fact it is the fastest wet car.

just finished the segment and here are my thoughts:

-Too many nerd/geek remarks when commenting on the LFA. I'm one to poke fun but wow, they went overboard.
-Too bad it was a wet track (very wet I might add) It got 1.22 which is the fastest wet lap, 3 seconds faster than the gallardo.

And I just realized, the LFA is the perfect exotic for todays economy. Nowadays some people are ashamed to buy flashy brand names like ferrari and lambo but nobody knows what the LFA is or what it costs. The rich can still have fun but do it in a (errrr) Lexus.
Great comment about a great car for the times.

the gallardo that did 3 seconds slower on the track isn't a lp560-4, its the old Gallardo with 500 hp. LP 560-4 did 1:19.7, over 3 seconds faster than the LF-A.

I was talking about the LP560-4 that did a 1:19.5. I thought someone was saying it was a bit damp on that day as well.

I'm still drooling over the gauges. Very cool how it has to be digital since the engine revs so damn fast!!

Pretty good review by Richard Hammond and great footages of the LFA by Top Gear. The letdown by the Stig's wet lap time is expected but still a shame. I wonder what the car is doing right now. If it's just sitting idle, Lexus should really insist on handing the car to the Stig again when the track is dry.

I liked it, I think they liked it. They were just shocked about the price - as we were when we found out the price on CL.

I would be more pissed if I was a BMW fanboy about the X6 film lol

I just watched the video and I have to say I am blown away by the performance of this truly amazing machine. The sound the car makes at any rpm will have the guys in Maranello drooling. Toyota really out did themselves with this machine, BUT like Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson I don't think the price is reasonable.

what the car can do on dry is everybody's guess. me i would just look at the comparison in wet, which are facts. 3 secs ahead, that's quite a lot of time in such a short course

now i just hope when the car is more "common", they can do another dry test
