The New Lexus LFA

If you haven't seen or heard about it yet, Lexus is about to come out with the LFA.

According to this, all LFA's will be hand built and they are only going to build 20 per month for 25 consecutive months, for a total of only 500 worldwide. The base price will be around $350,000, and the "very limited" ones will be more.

You get to choose the colors for everything (exterior, seat front, seat back, headliner, carpet, steering wheel, stitching, metal trim, instrument panel, door trim, center console, and even caliper color).

Engine is a 4.8L V10. Horsepower is 552 and it goes from 0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds. Top speed is 202 mph.

Moderators: Please delete this if it shouldn't be posted here. I had not heard the LFA was so close to actual production and just happened to stumble upon the information tonight and thought others would be interested. A lot of people don't look at the main page; they just come directly to the SC430 forum from a bookmark.

500 units for the life span of the car is very exclusive. I wonder who among the famous will own one?

Wonder if they'll have a NM edition?? I want one but my wife has said NO !!

Bet you have at least five in your Silicon Valley area, all will be 50k-100k over list !!

I'll take two Ferrari 458 Italias and still have some pocket change.... this LFA looks like a GTR on steroids... U-G-L-Y and waaaaayyyy overpriced (sorry guys; I love Lexus as much as anyone).

Yeah, I'll just wait for it to go down in price. I figure by the year 2045, I can get one. Maybe I'll wind up with Lindsay Lohan's cast off.

Then again, some in our government might seek to put a stop to this as soon as they hear about it. I doubt they think anyone NEEDS a V10 and 550 hp. And by the time they tax all the wealthy to pay for health care, nobody will be able to afford one anyway. They will wind up in the cash for clunkers program after everyone that gets one is made to feel guilty for their excess.
