Default speculating . . .

I think the V in VX may stand for Van, so it could possibly be a Lexus minivan based on the GS, & yes I agree it may be a R class competitor, I sat in a R class the other day, & it looks like a Mercedes minivan . . .

I hope it doesn't look ugly as the R-class and Pacifica!

Those 2 look way too van-like for my tastes. A minivan just doesn't say 'luxury car' to me.

I agree with you. But it's all dictated by the market..

I'd rock it if it looks exactly like that picture.

Honestly, I touched myself. I mean, I normally do, but that picture made me do it twice.

Dash - But you are not an SUV person. Personally I think the RX reminds me of the very late, unlamented AMC Pacer. It's an ugly little wannabee SUV. But to each their own.

That said, there are lots of them around here - it allows everybody to drive a Lexus at a comparitively cheap, entry level price, and probably handles well enough for standard snow conditions.

The RX is what they are now calling a crossover - kind of looks like an SUV, kind of handles like a car, and has AWD but no real off roading capabilities. Probably over the next five years "real" SUVs will once again become a niche market, and this type of vehicle will find appeal for the broad base of consumers. Or not.

Oh good, another tall vehicle I can't see around when driving my GS or MR2. Fantastic.

Does the USA need another SUV? Really, now?

Ok, it is an old thread but it was cross referenced from another old thread.

Guys, Lexus has one car based SUV. The GX and LX are not volume sellers and they both are gas hogs. Lexus really needs a 3-row car based SUV, that's a fact. I think if the 07 MDX is anything like what it is rumored to be, we will see proof of this in 07.

Or there will be a new larger RX with 3rd row option

Lexus definitely needs this car-based SUV that seats 6 or 7 in order to compete for marketing reasons.
