Headlight Sweeping Mode Inop
Hello,
I'm new to this forum but not new to Lexus. My 2010 RX 450h is my 4th. It has 49,000 on the ODO and looks new.
I visited my dealer on 5/21 due to a headlight system failure, "headlight sweeping mode inop".
The service advisor quoted $2,000 for a replacement RH headlight unit, which is about 8% of the value of the car.
About two months prior after a rare CA rainstorm, I noticed condensation in the same headlight assembly.
Both of my previous RXs had headlight condensation issues so I wasn't shocked but I was disappointed because I'm out of warranty. Needless to say, my disappointment increased measurably when I learned that the same headlights has now failed and I have a warning light on the dash unless I turn the sweep feature off on the light stalk.
Like most Lexus owners, I take pride and very good care of my vehicle. I don't use commercial car washes and park inside every night. The car has very low miles. This is a failure that seems very much out of character for a car of this quality.
Can someone from Lexus please weigh-in on this?
Sincerely,
Jack

Per the LexCareSP post, I called customer satisfaction and talked with an empathetic representative who collected my information. She is forwarding my case to a manager. She said that I should expect to hear something by COB on Thursday. I'm obviously hoping for a great outcome.
