cd changer
Does anyone know of a repair shop that can realign the laser for a skipping cd changer on a 93sc400?
I reside in the Bay Area of CA. Thanks for any suggestion, I already removed the changer and insulated the mounting area. It helped for awhile, but it still skips sometimes. Not ready for a aftermarket system.
I heard Lexus might sell refurbished models with a core return is this true?

I just inquired through my Lexus dealership about the trade-in program. Of course they would do it, but he pulled me aside and said they didn't really do anything to improve the lack of anti-skip mechanisms or memory. It's just an improved laser pick-up, from what he said. No guaranty not to skip or develop the same problems. For a guy who could have said anything at that point to make a sale, I appreciated his candor.
If anyone has other information from a dealer, I'd love to hear it as well.
I think it has been discussed many times here how the old ES300 and LS400 changers (search for the model numbers) work quite well and are able to use your current HU.
Sorry to hear that your cushion didn't work that well.
