Default CD Changer replacement

I've read through the many threads regarding CD changer issues and replacement, but I cannot find a good fit for the SC. Some people have replaced their CD changer with one from an ES300, but no one has mentioned what year. The issue I see with one from an ES300 is how does it fit in the same spot that the old changer fit? Does anyone have any other alternatives to the CD changer aside from the NAK HACK. That's a little too advanced for me and my tape deck works, but plays REALLY scratchy. Again, my system is the Nakamichi.
I've dropped my 12 disc changer off at a local stereo shop for repair, but they called and said they have no way to order parts for it and would have to send it off for an "invoice only" repair, meaning they can't give me an exact cost for repairs and that scares me. So any help would be great! Thanks in advance guys!

I've repaired loads of CD stackers by replacing all the capacitors, seems to work a charm. Need to have fairly advanced soldering skills unless you want to stuff it up though.
