Default Tweeter problems

I have the Boston Acoustic Pros 6.5 components installed in the front door of my 2000 GS. Every now and then I notice that the tweeters are not producing any sound (sometimes the left tweeter and sometimes the right tweeter). When I turn up the volume a lot louder, the tweeters will produce sound, but after I start listening at normal levels, the tweeter goes out again. Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it? Is there a problem with the cross-overs? Do I need to set the gain on the amp. a little higher? Is it a wiring problem?

Thanks,
Michael

Could be loose connections anywhere (wiring, crossovers, speakers themselves), or bad solder joints in the crossover(s). Sounds mainly like vibration-induced problems, not amp gain or anything like that. You'd probably be losing the mids too if there was a problem with your amp, unless there's a flaky filter component in your amp (assuming it has built-in crossovers for the bass vs mids/highs). There's no threshold below which the tweets will not play - it's not like you need a minimum amount of power to them.
