Default coming over from the LS section

so i have a 2005 LS430 with the Mark Levinson system & navigation. been having a little issue that i would like to get straightened out sooner than later, but not sure what i can do. so here is what i posted in the LS section.......

ok, i thought it was just a problem with my steering wheel radio volume controls, i did the whole reset thing that i found with the search. when i push the steering wheel up control, the volume goes up one, but then quickly back to the last volume number it was on. the down button doesn't work at all. the only thing that does work is the set button where i have it set to volume #5, so if it's on a higher volume, it automatically goes to 5 when i hit the set button. the other thing that worries me is that i noticed today when i was turning the radio volume up with the ****, it kind of did the same thing as the up button on the steering wheel. as i was slowly turning it up and try to stop, it jumps down to one lower number. searching this keeps bringing up the same threads about the reset or a problem that is not related. unfortunately, the reset didn't work for me.

has anyone ever had this happen? does anyone know of a fix for it? i started looking around thinking i might have to replace the radio, but on ebay they are running about $400-500. everything else works fine with the radio, cd changer (i have never used the tape deck). i can live without the steering wheel controls, but i don't want a problem with the manual ****. someone please help, lol.

hoping maybe someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.
