disc changer error message

disc changer error message
My newly purchased 97 sc300 cd disc changer doesn't work. Shows a error message when cd engages. Audio technician advised cleaning the lens. Did that - still not working. Any other suggestions. What are my options? Can I purchase a new changer. I wouldn't mind scraping the whole system for something new. Technician advised against it. Said the stock system was as good quality as you can get. I gots to have my CD player- Radio Sucks!

Error Code?
My factory changer kept giving me the E 22 code & I ended up swapping out the changer ( under warranty ).
Now the interesting question - An AUDIO technician told ya that the stock system was "as good as you can get?"

The audio guy basically just didn't recommend changing the system. Do you have any suggestions? I would like to have a premium system and I'm really jones'in for my cd player. Thanks
