Unhappy cd chnger

I have a 1997 ES300 whithout a factory/dealer installed cd changer and I'm very fustrated that I cannot find a compatible aftermarkrt CD changer to install in this model so I can use with the CD button that is on my radio dash..

Can someone advise me what alternatives there are!

Default 97 to 2001 es 300 cd changer options. 3 of them

here are the 3 options.
number 1 as stated above a fm changer can be installed. disadvataGES ARE THAT THE SOUND GOES THROUGH LOW FIDELITY FM STATION NOT CD QUALITY . ALSO THE HEADUNIT DOES NOT CONTROL THE CD CHANGER.also you need to add on the extra display and just like home your always losing the remote...........................................................................................................................................................................
number 2. a used factory changer. you will need to modify glove box to install in factory location. a new one with the whole new glove box from dealer 1200.00. used around 400.00 to get the changer and all the glovebox inserts. the factory changer is best sound quality as it is a japan made changer that lasts at least 10 years. so even a used one has at least 5 years life left in it. you can use any es300 factory changer from 1997 to 2001. the radio changed in 2000 but not the changer part number. 86270-33040. watch out for nakamichi changer it wont work and has part number 86270-33060........................................................
option number 3 yes there is aftermarket glovebox changer adapter for the 97 to 2001. so you could have a brand new changer aftermarket either jvc, kenwood or audiovox. but by the time you buy the adapter and the new changer it comes out 400.00 also same as used factory.. plus you cant install in the glovebox loaction you have to run the cd chaNGER THAT COMES WITH THE AFTERMARKET CHANGER TO THE TRUNK.so a brand new aftermarket changer made who knows where usually malaysia has life of 2 years if your lucky. so your better off for the same money buying the used factory changer.plus you have to remove the radio in either fm or adapter aftermarket to install the changer. all es300 97 to 2001 are prewired and all are cd button radios so you dont have to remove the radio to install it. just plug into the cd changer cable hidden behind the glovebox in a dummy connector.

Thumbs up Trust Me.. Go for the factory unit

I have a 97 ES300 and have stressed on this decision for the last couple of months... In the end,
go for the factory CD unit ! It's pricy but if you plan to keep the car for a WHILE its worth it..

I chose this option because of the "no kit" option for an aftermarket deck and having
compatibility issues with the wiring...

It plays my CD-R's very well so I'm not complaining!
