Question So let me get this straight....(about speakers)

I was about to purchase some aftermarket 6x9's for my ES300, but I've read in a few posts about how Lexus has the stereo set up perfectly, and if I change out speakers, the quality won't be as good. Any more info about that?

Yeah, basically new speakers are designed to draw more power than stock speakers and sometimes the stock amp can't handle it so it ends up sounding worse.

Lexus will sometimes use 2 ohm speakers versus the aftermarket 4 ohm speakers. 4 ohms will draw less current than the 2 ohm versions. Plus, the stock system tuning is far from "perfect".

Not to mention that I doubt these 6x9's are going in the front of the vehicle... I would put little thought into the rearfill replacements if you're looking for the best sound possible. But what do I know....

I really doubt that any Lexus has 6x9 speakers installed from the factory. In order to fit them to your rear deck, you would have to cut a lot of metal. I would advice swapping out your 4" door stock speakers to a better aftermarket set instead.
