Jensen is POS, no matter how you look at it. Besides, you get what you pay for so don't expect anything good in that price range.

There are many exceptions to the "you get what you pay for" logic that retro insists on following. If you must have an MP3 player in that pricerange, check out the Panasonic CQ-DF783U. I've seen it for $200 at Circuit City, so you don't have to go far to find one and you get the benefit of the full warranty and good price. Aside from the dissapointing load times on MP3 CD's, I've found it to be a very solid unit.

Gary, you bring up a good point but this has nothing to do with a regular person who wants a simple upgrade using your commercially available car audio products. I'd be surprised that a regular person who simply leaves his/her car in a shop to pick it with a nice audio system installed, has even heard of the products you have listed.
I don't insist on anything but the general principle is that you do get what you pay for in 90% of the cases. Same thing applies when it comes to putting together a budget system consisting of separate components and custom or active crossovers. After quite a bit of experimenting with all kind of equipment, I have found that the principle works the same. The more you pay, the better speakers you get. Mind you, my front stage consists of ScanSpeak Revelators and Peerless HDS and I dare anyone to find a cheaper speaker or a tweeter that can equal the Revelators in quality.
P.S. Persy, have you heard the new Scanspeak Revelator tweets Alpine and Genisis are going to use in their new, high-priced car audio sets? Absolutely stunning! I can easily compare the sound and precision with Esotars! I will post the link to specs but their site is down for some reason.

Retro,
Alpine has been using the Scanspeak Revelators way back when I posted the Alpine F#1 Status review. Back then it was considered "hush hush" info. They definitely made the right move using them!
If I ever get the chance, I would like to directly compare the Esotar T330D versus the Revelators. Kind of a shame that the only thing that you can get from Dyn (the esotar) has jumped up 300 dollars for the car audio version. They don't sell the home version anymore. (649 a pair jumped up to about a grand a pair!)
Let me know when the site is working! Would like to see the waterfall mlssa plots!

Jensen is definitely a low end product. There's definitely products superior to Jensen that won't cost you an arm and a leg. But in the world of Car Audio, as with most other things, you do usually get for what you pay.
Percy, I think we are talking about different Revelators here. The Alpne's set I was talking about is not out yet...I saw it on CES. Here is the new revelator, their site is back online. I would pick Ezotar over older Revs but not over these. I have heard them side by side a couple of weeks back.

Retro,
FR graph looks IMPRESSIVE. Still wish they would publish the waterfall plots. Price on the R2904/7000 tweets are 450 bucks EACH. 900 for the set! That's more expensive than the home version of the T330D!
Dyn has the newer Esotar 2 tweeter for their home speakers...wonder how they would compare.

$450 is a lot...but who pays that?
Here are some toys:
All installed now..double midbass in each door, 4" and tweet in kicks. Gonna post pics as soon as I finish fiberglassing the trunk.
