A lot of newer cars are leaving constant power to the cigarette lighters these days. I guess they know many people are using them for cell phone chargers and not as lighters. My LS has all 3 cigarette lighters switched with the ignition and it seems my cell phone battery is always low. I'm thinking of simply modifying the center console plug to pick up a constant + battery source. Closest connection appears to be the back of the stereo on pin 1 (blue w/yellow stripe wire) on a 7.5 amp fuse. Do you think this is too small of a fuse for a lighter plug?

Also for those with LS430 Ultra Luxury models, do you find it irritating that the rear seat massagers will only work with the key in the ignition position, not accessory?

 

I think 7.5 amp is too small for cig. I go with 15 amp just like most cig. fuse. You may have to run the wire from right side kick panel fuse block.

 

I'll stick a 10 or 15 amp fuse in that socket then, thanks! Nothing else uses it except for the dash radio now for backup memory.
