Unhappy Problems!

I'm in process of installing my Sony 7XAV LCD deck in my 98 GS400...

problem is, the wiring harness i bought isn't even close to what the harness
from the dash was...

so, i took a look at my lexus manual and found out that all of the wires are different
except for a couple of wires...

here's the thing though...
i'm not getting any sound...

everything on the deck works, the lcd pops out and returns..
but no sound...

i checked the Vacc at the amp and found there was no power there.

does anyone know what the hell is going on?
or have suggestions?

the problem is exactly as you stated. no remote turn on lead @ the amp. it is possible that the headunit doesnt put out enough MA to turn on the amp (it has happened before), but not the most likely situation. chances are that you have to drop a wire to the rear to get the amp on, just as a test take a piece of drop wire and string it to the back of the car and tap it into your ACC wire "just to see" if that is your problem. (which you stated it was) but do it anyway!!

sounds like you need to recheck your connections and find the proper turn on lead for the amp. at last resort (or first depending on your patience) drop a new turn on lead to the rear, it's not hard to do.

good luck.

oh and remember.. one is for the antenna, one is for the amp. did you just do the one for the antenna?
recheck the conections and find a new wire, that one dosent work.
