Default PERCY-Dynaudio

Percy-

On a previous message you recommended the following setup:

1. Dynaudio 240 MK II's -Front doors
2. Dynaudio MW 160 midwoofers for the rear doors
3. Dynaudio MW 190 Subwoofer

Can you explain what work needs to be done to install these speakers properly? I realize there needs to be some modification, but can you please clarify. I want to make sure my installer does the prpoer work needed for these speakers to work at there optimum.

Can these speakers be installed with out looking like there was any work done to the door panels. I want the stock look.

Im not sure what Amps I will use but these are definately the speakers I will go with.

How do I get a hold of your book? Can you PM at jrodrigues69@hotmail.com

Thanks,
JR

I've got a 3 piece Dynaudio setup with the 8 inch midbass drivers. I'm trying to figure out how to put these into my front doors/kick panels as well. Anyone have any experience there?

Guru,

The MW170's will NOT fit in the front doors using the stock door panels. I tried and so has Percy. I ended up putting them in the rear doors with some 160's in the fronts. There is not enough depth in the front doors for the 170's (I wish there was - I had them in my 2001 C5 and they sounded great), a custom panel will need to be fabricated so the mid stands further away from the door.

Hi Percy,

Can you send me a link to your book? I have a 99 GS400 and would like to upgrade the sound system. Does your book give advice on that? If it does, please send me a PM or send me an email at hameed@prudensconsulting.com . Thanks!

Damn, now back to square one. FIgures. They fit fine in an Integra and not in this huge *** car. Sigh. . . .
I may have to get a set of two way with 7 inch drivers. Anyone done the 240MKII setup in the doors?

BTW, I have two MW190's from my previous car. Anyone know if there is a demand for them or what they are worth?

Hello Guru, I have the 240's in the front and 160's in the rear. Powered by 2 JL audio 300/2 amps. They are absolutely fantastic. No complaints. The longer I play them, the better they sound.

Ahh, I've been looking for opinions on that MD190 sub. Currently I have the 10" IB4 but I want to change it to a stronger sub but still wanting to go with free air. Can you give me some feedback on how you liked the MD190's? Did you have them in a free-air environment or was it enclosed? I want to find out if the MD190 pushes well when tested at high volume.

The 190's are amazingly musical and accurate. I had them kind of in an enclosure. I used my rear fenders as the enclosures for them. I liked them but need something smaller that takes up less space.
