Default LS Nav System

I have a 98 LS400 which doesnt have a factory NAV system and I want to buy an aftermarket system and install it in the car. Does anyone have any experiences they could share with me, along with any suggestions as to which system is the best. Is it worth it to spend $1000 for the NAV system or is it just a waste of money? Thanks in advance for the help.

The 1st time your navigation system takes you trun by turn to a previously unknown destination it will be worth it's weight in gold. You can add aftermarket navigation without having to replace your factory AM/FM radio. The following products are good to investigate.

1. Garmin StreetPilot III Deluxe
2. Alpine NVE-N852a with Alpine monitor
3. Pioneer AVIC-90DVD with Pioneer AVD-W6xxx monitor
4. Kenwood navigation system with knewood touch screen monitor

Thank you for your reply. I mainly drive in one area (NYC). Would it be ok to get the regular garmin with the 32 MB card or will that not be enough for NYC due to all of the streets involved. Should I spend an extra $100 and go for the deluxe or will the regular due? Thanks for the help!
