Multiple Electronics Failures
I have problems with the electronics failing little by little. Mine is a 2002 GS-300.
First thing to go was the driver's window. Push the button and it may (or not) go down, but it won't come back up. You have to sit there and play with the switch constantly until it moves.
Next thing was the right rear passenger door lock. Does not work from the driver's main door lock controls. Then it spread to the left rear. Most recently, the passenger's door. When I push the "all doors lock' button, it barely moves the driver's door lock. The others don't even respond.
Now I have problems with the mirror adjustment button. Moves sporadically and sometimes not at all.
Oh, and the radio (factory Bose system) now shows crazy gibberish lettering where it usually shows the station you are tuned to and what is playing. I bought this car new in 2002 and it has been a wonderful vehicle. Never ever had it in the shop. I fear it's showing its age now though. Kinda like a suffering elderly person. But mostly in the electronics.
Makes me wonder if there is some master control board that handles all of these functions, and it is the culprit.
