Default Sound proof

Does anyone know how to take apart the Carpet on the front seat so I can apply some Sound proofing material somewhere on the floor so I can reduce the road noise.

Moving to the Electronics Forum where the experts probably have experience with this.

You'll need to take apart the trim sills, trim areas, front seats and center console. Then you can get at the carpeting. Very big job!

Persy got it right; although, I would not advise removing center console. Of course if you want absolutely perfect results you might want to do so but it is pretty hard to put it back in the car. I would not advise it if you have never done it before on cheaper cars.

What exactly are you looking for when you say sounddeaden. Do you want to stop metal panels from flexing when your bass hits or do you want to get read of the road noise inside the car? There are various techniques you can use depending on your goal.

well the thing is I have the horrible stock bridgestones on my car, and they have about 22 thousand miles on them right now, so the Noise is just wayyy tooo loud, it sounds like my whole front end is Hallow or something, My taurus sounds quieter then my GS now and I figure that if I were to put a little bit of sound deadening material just where u place ur feet in the front of the car, both drivers side and passengers side, it'll help tone the sound down even though the tires are loud. IM gonna be getting some 19's too with stiffer suspension and I hope it doesn't sound as loud as this. Since u guys are saying that it's a difficult job, could u guys give me som advice on how I can atleast tone it down a bit in the front with some material? thanks

The critical parts are doors (as Jmai said) and inner wheel wells. Firs of all you would need to use at least one layer of tar based sounddeadener and on top of that you would need either sheet foam or carpet padding. The thicker your sound barrier is (foams, puddings) the quieter your ride will become. While you are at it I suggest doing that to your whole floor. The results are so noticeable!
