Hey, so I just purchased a 2001 ES300. Looking for any info anyone has on installing an aux input for ipod/android audio..

 

From what I remember, the 2001 ES300 is one of the years for which a commercial plug and play aux-in is not available. Even though the pin configuration on the relevant head unit port is the same as on radios in Camrys of the same model years, pins on the ES300 radio had different functions than on the Camry. We had a Soundgate aux-in adapter on our 98 Camry but I remember that it didn't work on the ES300.

Factory Radio Service installed the most deluxe version of their aux-in on my 2000 LS400 Nakamichi radio. The aux-in port was on the back of the head unit and they put an on/off push button on the front of the radio. A 6 foot audio cord was provided. Sound quality through the aux-in was wonderful - until my radio died from an unrelated issue.
