replace burnt out stock amp with after market?
Ill make a post with some other questions you can pick and choose from. but i dont have much time at the moment.
Stereo doesnt work. found a thread with same problem. right side of trunk down by wheel well (where the amp is located) has a plugged drain. amp is shot. sounds like my problem. only thing is he spend like $125.00?!?!?
main question is will an aftermarker amp for a sub(or speakers) work or does it have to be specifically the amp made for this stereo? ive got a 500 watt alpine in my other car(in use but idgaf) will this work right? too big? too small? can i wire that straight in?
plus is the stereo with the sub and tweeters (if it has multiple stereo option) worth saving or sould i rewire it all? sound any good after 20 years?
Thanks

You'll just use the speaker-lead wires. The factory wires are a small gauge, but they'll work if you don't feel like running new wires to each speaker. You might have to source a Factory Service Manual to figure out which color of wires feed each + and - of each speaker. Just don't use the factory leads for power and ground as they would be far undersized for an aftermarket amp, especially as much as 500W.
