Morning. I have had my JBL MS8 for 2 or 3 years now - whenever they came out I picked one up to integrate my aftermarket stereo into my 3GS that is ML equipped. Everything is installed and currently run by an Audiocontrol LC7, which we will be swapping out. Just been lazy I guess, since this should be a fairly easy swap; been sitting on the JBL for too long and need to get it in.
I just wanted to see if anyone had installed the MS8 into a ML equipped car, and if so, what should I complications should I be prepared for? Thanks for any help that can be offered.

 

a word.. sell the MS8... they have never worked properly.. ALL the 1's i've installed(20 or 30) have come back with problems and had to be swapped out and or finally replaced... and to boot the ML system is a difficult enough unit to deal w/if the LC7 works fine LEAVE IT ALONE......

 

I just did this on my 3GS with ML, it sounds good but I get distortion if the head unit is to loud. Regardless of the volume, if the head unit is above 40 it starts clicking and popping. I don't know if its the MS8 or the factory amp but its not a huge problem because I keep the MS8 turned up so 25-30 sounds like MAX.

I have no problems with navigation or Bluetooth calls, below is my post with install information..

Thanks guys. I've pulled the system, but for the next install I think I will only have the 8 running sub channels. I will check out your install thread. Looking forward to seeing how it turned out.
