Avoid 2012/13 (v.12) NAV map update!
I recently installed the 2012/13 (v.12) map update NAV DVD to my RX to replace the 2010 version while coming back from CA to IL. I noticed a number of well established exits, highways and rest stops are totally missing from this 2012 version as compared to the older 2010 version. Has anyone noticed this problem? Here's a good example. The John Kilpatrick Turnpike is a very major tollroad around Oklahoma City and has been around for awhile. It was in the 2010 version but I'm stunned that it is missing from the 2012 version. Even the well established entrances to the Grand Canyon are missing. Fortunately for us we travel this route 3 to 4 times a year so we know the route very well especially from the 2010 version but this latest 2012 shows no exit for this JKT at all. We also knew most of the established rest stops along the route and the 2010 version was right on. Can you believe the 2012 was missing at least a quarter to a third of them? Not only that, it has listed a number of "new" ones on the route that really don't exist. Called Lexus Customer Service to complain but they told me to complain to the dealer that I purchased the DVD from. This issue has nothing to do with the dealer and is the fault of the outfit that prepared the map database. Does anyone know where I can direct my complaint to on this subject? Thanks.
Well that really sucks!!! This is a reason I am always hesitant to update anything that comes with updated information.
I would try what customer service dept. said and see where they take it, Keep us advised.
