I have a 2002 SC430 & 2003 GX470

I want to get the Nav software on the '02 SC to be the same as the nav software on the new GX. How can this be accomplished?
Is it an EPROM change?
Can it really be that dificult?

I am not to sure they are the same. You may want to call the dealer and cross-ref the DVD numbers. I DO know that when you insert the DVD into a drive it will attempt to boot and overwrite the older information causing irreversable changes. So I would be cautious in "winging it"

I have been told the DVD contains the map information not the software that runs the NAV system. Is this correct?

The disk carries along some and maybe all the program info. It is not just data. The 2002 disk I loaded in a friends SC430 flashed the program and rebooted the system. It also had a warning sticker that said you can no longer use the 2001 disk ever again. So I would say....YES it has the program.

if I put the Nav DVD from the GX into the SC will the Nav system function just like the GX's?

Once I do this I know (have been forwarned) that I cant go back to the older DVD.

Does anyone know for certain the results?
