I installed a sub and amp in my 06 GS430 days later I am having a problem with my electrical in the car. The head unit and power steering is cutting in and out at low speed. I'm assuming that I am pulling too much power from the car and it is cutting off nonessential systems to keep the car running. Anyone have any insight on this matter. I need some help!
When you said you installed the sub and amp, I thought you meant aftermarket. I would still try grounding it somewhere else just to see if it changes anything.

I'm sorry I may not have been clear. I have a 1000 watt mono block amp installed connected to the stock headunit. I checked the ground. The problem hasn't manifested itself today I started the car and no sign of the issue I'm thinking the battery or alternator is not supplying enough power.

Unless the issue only occurs under heavy draws from the amp (playing loud and deep bass notes), I doubt the issue is the battery or the alternator. What kind of amp is it and what gauge wire are you running for power and ground. Where exactly do you have it grounded? I know you say bare metal, but I have seen people who think that a metal trim screw is a sufficient ground. I always sand paint from a section of the frame, bolt (with nut and lock washer on the other side) the ground and then spray it with clear to prevent corrosion. So many people underestimate the issues that can arise from a bad ground. If you are good in all of these areas, you may want to add a battery to meet the demands of the amp. Lots of people recommend the Optima Yellow Top batteries. I personally recommend Kintik or Stinger.
