Default Aftermarket amp wire to factory sub

Okay so I put in a double din in my 98 ls400 and have look/read that it is possible I can run aftermarket amp to factory sub. Now my question is about how many watt minimum/maximum of the amp I can use for the stock sub? And best place to mount the amp to get best ventilation so it wont overheat etc snd turn off. Reason going this route is because I kind of want to eliminate the aftermarket subwoofer box in the trunk. All inputs is greatly appreciated

Depending on the age of the factory sub, adding a aftermarket amp might damage the sub. If the sub has never been abuse, and the surround is still good, look at getting a 2 channel amp around 150 x 1 at 4ohm
