Default too much power?

wasup guys, got a question.
Im running a jbl 1200.1 amp with two kicker 12" L5. Also got a 1 farad lightning cap. I got a new battery about a year and a half ago and i just replaced the alternator. My car cut off today while i was riding home. had to get jumped off, to get the car back home. Is that amp just too much for the regular alternator and battery to run??? Do i really have to ad an extra battery?? Extra Cap?

What kind of car do you have? It is possible that the system could draw enough current to put a hurting on your electrical system, but it should not of just stopped while you were driving down the road.
First I would check the battery, take it to a shop and see how many cold cranking amps it is putting out. They can do this at a NAPA or similar store. Maybe you could get a multimeter and check to see the voltage? How many amps is your new alternator putting out? Do your lights dim when the bass hits?
Its kind of a weird situation, might of been a loose connection, short or something like that but that doesnt explain your car dying all of the sudden and then getting a jump and everything is well again. Try to narrow it down and post more info so others can help out.
