Default Garmin GPS

I just recently bought the Garmin Streetpilot Colormap. It seems to be working fine (powers up, screen is fine, finds the time and date by itself), however, it can't find the GPS satellites and find my location. The thing is, it doesn't give me the message saying "satellite not located." Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

keep it on for a long time, id say about 20-30 min, mine took a long time first time i turned it on, and if you dont use it for a while, it has to actully figure out where you are... for all it knows is you and it are both lost... it takes a while after that is done its not too bad after that..

Just make sure it has a clear view of the sky too, my StreetPilotIII couldn't get through the heavy tint I have in one of my cars. Definitely leave it on for a while too, it takes a while the first time because it has no clue where you are. Mine thought I was in China at first, but after about 15 minutes corrected itself.
