I actually found the 555x model in my car. I guess the last installer left in there. I have no clue why he didnt install it. Its still nib. For some reason he said i still need a key, but this immobilizer says it doesnt need a key. I also have the 555xw on the way, but i think theyre the same. Lmk which i should install.

The 555x is an older version of the 555xw. Kind of your call as far as which to go with, but the 555x is going to do the job that you need, and since you got the 555xw, you can keep it as a backup. If anything, it can be used later with another system with a simple reflash.

It's not really flashing with the Directed stuff. The unit has to 'learn' the key you have so that it responds like the transponder in it and the ECU gets the signal it is expecting. A qualified installer should have no problems doing it if you don't have the instructions or feel comfortable tackling it.
