I am in the process of hardwiring my Valentine One but ran into a problem.

I've been looking online for a switched source and wasn't able to find anything on my 98 LS so I decided to go with the red wire coming out of the garage door opener. I then grounded to a screw but nada. Tried the connection a couple of times to avail. I ran out of time and had to button it back up.

Was my ground off? I wish I had taken some pictures but had very little lighting.

Here is my reference post.

Thanks, Ed

To be honest I never use any "random" switched output, especially one up in the headliner area. The fuse rating for those circuits tends to be low plus without the entire electrical system schematic I have no way of knowing what the load rating is.

I would run a wire through the headliner, down the a-pillar and to the ignition switch harness. There I would grab switched power from Ignition 2. This way the radar powers on only when the car is running but will not be on if you have the radio on while in the Accessory position.

try buying a $5 test light an probe the interior fuse box... turning the key off & an on til u find the proper (fused) wire to use... or i for see big problems in ur future other than a speeding ticket.
