What kind of alarms do you guys have ? I need an alarm and want to see what you guys recommend. Thanks

I have three Viper 550's with auto start and really like them. Very reliable, no bs false alarms, plenty of features, installs really clean, and range is good.

how about anybody have any kind of vehicle tracking ?

 

THere is a 2way pager alarm out this week from DEI/Clifford/Viper. I am installing it next week. As for the tracking device I have no idea. Go to www.carsound.com and do a search in Security section. The only place with professional help.

The DEI 2way pager setup is pretty nice. I may upgrade depending on how the first few installs go.

I am not worry about install, I got real professional shop to do it...it will cost me quite a bit more then Best buy or some place similar but the install should be crazy good. I will tell you what's up next week.

Yeah, I have a few friends that do alarms for a living and install my stuff free. They do only custom work now but say that haven't install enough DEI 2ways yet to make an opinion. They install some of the cheapy 2ways and say they are not bad. I plan to have the alarmed fully wired to my SC including stereo, car start, windows, sunroof, trunk, and lights.

I have Autopage 700(s) on both my car and the Jeep. It has a pager, but its not very good, maybe 1/2 mile range - Great for hotels. The alarm itself is fantastic. It has a 4 Button remote with an LED screen so you can scroll through the settings. It can control more functions than I need, but right now I have remote start, windows down/close sunroof and underbody neon hooked to the remote. The remote can also control up to 4 cars.

The new Autopage 705 is pretty bad a$$ and the range is good. I beleive that it is also a two-way. I'll probably upgrade at least the car to it.

As for tracking...can't help you. I know that usually transponders in cars are not really high power and tend to fade out when pulled into a garage or under an overpass.

I have had a beta unit in my gs for around a month now and am very pleased with it. Dei just released the production units a week ago. It is exatcly the same as a viper 550 security system. The only difference is the antennea cord and the reciever which goes on the windshield. It comes with one remote and extras should be around 80-100.00 retail. We have installed a couple dozen this week with zero problems.

As for tracking systems Dei should release there unit aprox. 1st quarter of next year. The only one I know of that is out now is: http://www.trackmenow.com.

Another nontracking system to consider would be clifford g-4 or solaris. Make sure you get a very good installer for either of these systems. Not a regular install espically on the g-4, it comes standard with wireless immobilizer circuit which makes it in a class by itself.

 

I WOULD GO WITH CLIFFORD SOLARIS. THIS IS WHAT I USE ON MY GS3. COMES WITH AUTO START. VERY GOOD CAR ALARM.
