Lost power to factory radio
Pretty typical story: I have a 1995 Lexus ES300 that's CD changer (CDX-M9071ZT (86270-33010)) died this winter and would display "Err". It was built in November 1994 so I figure it had had its run. The rest of the radio worked fine, tape, AM/FM, antenna--all good but just no CD changer.
I went ahead and bought a used CD changer on eBay for $50, factory, same model and everything. Plugged it into the trunk and it worked, no problems. I took my old CD changer to the trunk to remove the CD and CD cassette that was in it and it ejected it no problem. Unplugged the old one and plugged the new one in and surprise, nothing works, the changer has no power. I tried putting the old one back in but same thing. Put the key in the ignition and tried to turn the radio on and nothing.
It then seemed as though it had to be a fuse. I went to the owner's manual and followed the corresponding fuses: I checked the #8 fuse by the steering wheel, the #23 as well as the #32 under the hood all to no avail.
I'm stumped and fuming, particularly because I was so close to getting this all in order. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to cars so I like the factory look and am determined to figure out what's killed this, or if there's a hidden fuse that I don't know about.
Please help.

Lost Power to 2006 RX 400h radio
I am experiencing a similar problem (see below). The Lexus dealer suggested disconnecting and reconnecting the battery - to perform a reboot of sorts, but I am wondering if that will lead to other problems. I haven't done it yet.
Here is my situation maybe it will spur a response for both of us.
I worked on installing a VAIS ipod adapter in my 2006 RX 400h yesterday. Somewhere late in the process (after much frustration with the VAIS product), I lost power to the radio. Removed the adapter and went back to the stock wiring and still no power - dead. I have checked a number of fuses (Amp, Radio 1, Radio 2, LCD Display) and none seem bad. I am lost and about to go to the dealer. Anyone have a way to isolate the source of my problem?
Thanks

Had my fuses checked again by a Toyota specialist who said they were all fine. He seems to think my radio is dead and that's it, but this is usually the diagnosis from all mechanics where electronics aren't their specialty.

Solved Power Problem on 400h
It was a fuse - but you could not tell the fuse was bad by looking at it. I spent minutes looking at a 7.5 amp under dash fuse (from various angles) that looked like it was OK but also looked a little strange. Here are the fuses I checked - the last one - #77 in the owners manual - ended up being the problem. But it was not obvious.
31 audio system
32 theft, ac moonroof, multiplex
33 lights and nav system
35 audio system
38 nav system screen
59 multiplex
62 audio system , glove box light

Problem with Stereo on 1995 ES300
I have the problem where my speakers started making popping noise and completely stopped playing audio. It has killed my battery a number of times. I have changed the battery, replaced the alternator and still have no stereo and it is a 50/50 chance that the car will start after it sits for more than 1 day without being driven.
A friend told me to remove the stereo completely and see if it solves the problem. Does anyone know how to remove this and if so can you send instructions?
Thank you.

Groove76.....I know it's been a few years but I just came across this. I have the exact same problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem with the radio was? I fixed my CD player in the trunk, tested it and all was well. I then re-installed it to its mount and now I have no radio or anything associated with it. All 3 fuses look fine.

I know this is a old post but did you find a solution to this issue. Your description is pretty much identical to mine and I'd really appreciate if you or anyone else could resolve this.
Thanks
