My 6 disc cd changer I'd dead. Could it be a fuse?

It's most likely a bad spring. You can have it repaired, or you can try to fix it yourself.

I tried. It did not go well

The sc has the same CD player as the latest retro Ford Thunderbird

There was a place on the Internet that fixed other automotive electronics.

These guys will repair it, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-SC430-...tYBnd7&vxp=mtr

After considering my options, Instead of having my radio repaired, I took the repair money and bought a GROM adapter that lets me play MP3's instead
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iPhone-iPod-...tV-K0B&vxp=mtr
The one caveat is it only works for 2005 and up

Does that GROM unit for with the 2005 and up "radio" or does it have something more to do with the rest of the car?
Reason I'm asking is that I have CD changer issues for my 2003 radio. Was contemplating buying a 2005 + ML radio to hopefully take advantage of some of these add-ons that seem to only be available for the 05+ vehicles. I didn't know if it had only to do with the radio itself or is there other components affected (i.e. steering wheel controls, amp, etc)? My understanding is that the 02-09 use the same connector so can be interchangeable.
Thanks

That is my understanding also. I do not know what the difference is, but I believe it is all encompassed in the radio itself. You should be able to swap for a newer model with little problem. I would feel better if someone else could verify this though.

Does anyone else know?

....I know ShawnOk has a 2002 & he switched his radio out, to a newer model, I just can't remember what year. You might try PMing him & he can give you all the info you might need
