I plugged in my recently purchased replacement amp (old one was blown due to previous owner modifications) only to discover that 3 of the speakers are also blown out.

only the sub woofer, passenger door speaker and the two door tweeters make noise.

Looks like i need a set of rear speakers and a set of door speakers.

rears are 6.5" ? and door is 4.5"?

not sure of the sizes.

 

4" all around stock. You can easily fit 5.25 in the rears, 6.5 with a little modification.

You can make simple templates for the doors to fit anything from 4"-6.5" components and use the stock tweeter location.

 

4"s all around? that's great news. I'm not by any means a big stereo guy. I'm thinkinig 4 new 4" speakers will be fine. with the stock head unit and factory amp and sub, it'll be good enough for my needs with just replacing the stock 4"s.


any suggestions? cheaper is better, of course.

 

Go 5.25, 4's suck for versatility. They are useful when combined with larger speakers to gain a wider frequency band. By them selves, unless they are high end speakers, are pretty weak.
