Smile Custom system Build. PICTURES!!!!

Well I just felt like I should share some of what I do with everyone.

I have been a installer for Best Buy for almost 5 years and learned alot. Also figured I would post this to show people not all Best Buy installers suck. Dont get me wrong some are not the great, but there are alot that know there ****. LoL.

So I decided to try my hand at fiberglass.

Started off as you usual, run-of-the-mill Infinity G35 trunk, and ended up with 1200 RMS wattage of audio/video bliss. Also integrated his air suspension.

Note: Please excuse me, the first few pictures are crap cell phone pics. FINAL product pics are better.

Enjoy!

Looks great Im a bit on the fence on the fabric but def unique and well done... I also worked at best buy a while ago and worked the sales side and a bit in the shop. I know that there are lot of installers that know their business and some who dont. We were lucky at our store to have great installers. Thats the problem with big box companies they have to hire quantity over quality. Kinda hit and miss at times.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yea the fabric is really different but we wanted to accent the boxes and it had an oriental feel to go with all the jdm goodies he had.

@swtjlsy - Yea thoes look pretty clean but we wanted more air space. Yours sit on top of the factory floor, where mine do all the way to the bottom of the trunk.

@1GStoEnvy - Yea just take a day or to and stare at your trunk and start with another persons system you like, and then modify it little by little to get you finished goal. Thats gonna be the best way if you dont have a very creative eye.

@xsh0tya - Yea it really is a hit or miss. Still like that unfortunately. Getting better thought. Thats the down fall to large box companies, quantity of quality sometimes. I am striving to change that one installer at a time lol.

You mean "chose," right? And that should be a given since it has a big red "R" on the sub(s) in 3 different pics.

Just busting stones...

I've long said that BBY has some decent guys in the bay since I know a couple of them and the corporate guy and a couple of their trainers, but good showing. I would have liked to see the 'glass stop at the wall as opposed to flipping up to meet the wood trip, but to each his own.

Was there any intent on putting grills over the subs so the trunk has even a modicum of usefullness or was that thrown out due to the compressors et al?

No. The trunk was pretty much meant for show, plus the compressor but if needed you could but a few bags of groceries lol.

It was my first glass project so i am sure there are a few things i could have done differently. But he wanted it to flow and be curvy. So it arc'd up and the wall is just to showcase the amps and hide the tank.
