Angry No Power for power antenna

95 SC 400 Nacamachi
I went through the antenna mast replacement, now I can't get the antenna motor to work.
The toothed plastic antenna drive "rack"was broken in two, so I had to remove the whole assy, to remove the bottom section. I cleaned all the moving parts, checked the electrical connections & grounds, everything appeared servicable. I reassembled the antenna (in the car) mast in "down position". Turned on the ignition and radio (AM) waited 15 seconds for antenna to move up (I could hear a clicking sound in the speakers, but no antenna motor) then turned the radio off. I cycled it a few more times, no response.
I removed the (2) motor housing screws, carefully lifted the housing off and raised the armature enough to release the drive gear. I slowly pulled the mast to the full up position and reassembled the motor housing (ensured brushes were clean and made contact w/armature). Re-tried power on radio check......NOTHING!
Are there limit switches I need to set?
Any ideas from you electrical/audio types out there?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I remember reading another post about a ground lead that comes out of the housing and attaches to one of the screws that holds the unit to the fender - - did you re-attach the ground lead in the same place it was at before? To a clean, unpainted surface? Just a thought - -
