I know this was discussed somewhere else, but after searching I couldn't come up with anything..

So, I know it's possible, but how do you convert all of the other window switches for the passengers to have the AUTO down capability? This is standard on all new GS's and LS's etc..but the older ones only have the driver side down.

Can this be done just by replacing the switches in all the other doors with a driver side unit? I think I'll try taking the driver side and switching it with the passenger site and seeing what happens.

Anyone have any clues?

 

I have never done this, but the switch should be the only required change. Your idea for trying a swap first is the way to go, the only thing I can think that would be off is the way it is mounted. I dont know, but there is the chance that it will not mount up correct....

 

Maybe this can be changed as one of the C-BEST settings? Have you looked at those? You can replace the swithches, but i dont know how easy/expensive it would be.

 

C-BEST didn't exist until much later on.

This isn't the answer, but lends credence to the switch answer.

When I first got my GS, I noticed that one of the rear windows didn't work with auto and I took it to the dealer to be fixed. They had to replace the entire window switch unit on my driver's door panel.

 

OK how bout I post this in the lobby to get more responses?

I belive dei (viper alarms) makes a window mod. which will convert all windows. Look at a dei p/n 530t. I had this in my prelude for about 10 minutes and didnt like it. I switched to a 529t which enables me to roll sunroof, windows up and down but does not have the auto feature.

Last week I installed a viper 2-way beta unit to my gs, but I havnt done window mods on it yet. These should start shipping in aprox. 30-60 days. To roll the windows up and down on the current generation gs you just have to hold ground to the lock/unlock relays. Much less time consuming than doing window mods.
