I have a 92 SC400.
Everything about my audio is OEM.
Long story short, I took out the cd changer because it's not working anymore.
Because of this, the stock amp is exposed.
One night, when I was driving home with 2 bottles of water (dispenser), the bottles flipped over and flooded the amp.
I went home, removed the amp, and got the water out.
I let 2 days for the amp to dry under the sun, plugged it back in, speakers and sub are working perfectly fine except for the speaker on the passenger's side front.
Another problem is, I never knew whether or not that speaker was not working since I got the car.
MY QUESTION: could the previously flooded amp has anything to do with it?
If yes, can I get that speaker working again by simply changing the amp?
I have the same problem. Blown speakers sometimes just don't pu out any sound AT ALL. Sounds like it's time for an upgrade. Right now, it's just to col for me to wrestle with the door panel removal outside. I've gotten my amp wet several times on my first SC and after drying out, it always worked like a champ. Great excuse to go A/M!!!!!
I'm not quite sure on the SC but on the ES, there is a speaker relay in the trunk just for the front passenger side speaker to work with the oem hands free phone. Could be that relay or as mentioned above, could just be the speaker blown. Someone should have a bypass wiring diagram for the relay since the old school phones no longer work anyway, I would try that first, then try another speaker.
