Default ML Sub nonfunctional

I was messing around with my the settings on my 04 GS with ML nav and I could not get the bass to respond the way I wanted. I finally got in the trunk to see if it was actually working. And it turns out it was completely nonfunctional. No movement, no sound, no nothing.....

Any suggestions???

I have been reading through the forum posts regarding the subs for the past hour. As best I can figure the sub is dead or my amp is on the way out. Is there a way to test the sub or the amp to see which is failing?

It gets worse...i just removed the back seats and rear deck to find the yellow sub wire was cut. I also discovered there is 0 bass being sent to the rear speakers. I am going to try to splice the yellow wire to see if the sub is functional or if the previous owner just snipped the wire or possibly if it was an accident.

Also with the rear door speakers not getting bass. Could that be a crossover somewhere?
