Hey guys I am in a knot between these two companies and am deciding on which brand to get. I am going either for 2 12" JL Audio W3's or 2 12" Diamond D3's. Its a hard decision on my part cause there one of the two best companies out there. I heard the JL W3's today and they sounded amazing My local audio shop had Diamond D1's which sounded like my Kicker CVR which I hate, and I officially hate Kicker now there subs sound like trash haha, anyways JL is a bit more pricier than the Diamonds but money is not an issue here . The JL's sounded alot higher quality too so im still not sure.

 

JL and DA both sounds good, but i would i have to go with JL. JL subs are more efficient than DA.

 

are you set on just those two brands of subs or open to anything? if so i would recommend image dynamics idmax 12s or an elemental designs 13av, great subs with the sound quality of 8s and the boom of 15s, but if your stuck on the two above mentioned brands i would say jl is good but overrated and diamonds sound pretty decent as long as you have them correctly powered and box size built to spec, but good luck in your search theres alot of competition out there

 

JL all day long. Just installed one 10 inch W6 with a 500/1 Memphis amp.

i'm not really in the stero stuff anymore.when i was it was jl for me and they been around for awhile.i never herd of that other brand.

 

i used to have Diamond Audio D9 12' those sucka was hittin hard but you would need alot of power to them

 

im running 2 12 W6 JLs with an Elemental Designs Nine.1 and it sounds awesome...my little brother has 2 10 W3s on an Alpine amp and his sounds awesome too.

I vote JL Audio.

go W7 i did, i upgraded from a 12W6 To a 12W7 powered by a 500/1. best decision i ever made

 

Ha damn I know the w7 are expensive but how much you pay for yours?

Diamond Audio D912D4 is prob one of the most musical subs with super output in a proper enclosure. Did I mention those boys can get LOUD?

 

diamond audio is the way to go. get something different then all the other fan boys out there, and enjoy the sound that diamond produces. D9 is really where you want to be at, much more musical then teh JL can ever be, and has more excursion then the w7.

I personally run all d9 stuff in my rig. d9 front speakers, d9 amps, d9 sub. If you were in oregon i would let you listen to all of it.
