After Market Radio Draining Battery
I recently installed a new after market radio (Sony) in my 1997 Lexus ES300. The next day after the instillation the battery was almost dead. When I turned the car on it turned off because the RPMs were to low. This happened twice, on the third time I gave it a little gas for about 30 secs and the car stayed on. Drove the car around and charged the battery. Turned it off and started right up. I then drove about 15 miles to best buy and had one of the techs look at the wiring job I had done. He said everything was connected correctly and could not find a reason why the battery was draining. Not sure if this helps, but when I turned the car on after installing it the car was really reved up, it was around 2000 RPMs. This might have been because the engine was cold and it was pretty cold in the garage too. When I installed the radio I disconnected the negative terminal. Anyone know what may be casing the drain. This all started after I installed the radio. The radio turns off when I take the key out of the ignition.
