Question Help: 1992 Lexus SC300 Sounds

Help:

i have a 1992 lexus sc300 and the stereo or speakers are sort of... dead. the head unit lights up, but little to no sound comes out. The volume control also has no effect; turned all the way up, or turned all the way down, the volume controls it self. After 15 minutes of driving, the sound starts to increase, but still too soft.

if i am going to replace something, should it be the head unit/stereo? or the speakers? amp? or is something loose? because pockets are limited.

thanks in advance.

Do you have the Nak or Pioneer system?

Could be either the volume control module or the amp/s
