Most likely your 2002 RX still has the old version. Check to see if you can get Canadian coverage. And also the version of the software, if it says version 2000.1, that's old.
I picked up my 02 at the end of March. I am able to select Canada when choosing regions, but haven't really played with it much. If I remember correctly when I go into the setup menu it says it's version 2001, the car came with it that way. What was your old version and what is the version it brought you up to? Just wanted to know that I have the newest version available. Thanks.
BTW, did you have to pay for the upgrade? Also did you get to keep the old disc? STill think $600 for that disc is outrageous.
Which parts of Canada were not covered in the old version that are now covered?
I think the easiest excuse is to say I've been planning to drive there for some time and since the literature said it had extended Canada coverage... etc. (besides, we are planning on driving up north some time, but I dont know exactly where...)
My old navigation, version 2000.1 didn't have Canada At all. So even if you drive up to Canada, your screen map will be blank once you pass the US border. Just like I did. I live in Seattle, and frequently drive up to Vancouver, B.C. One easy way to confirm this is try to change the region map in your Nav. If you don't even see the button "Canada", then you don't have any Canada at all.... Otherwise you should be able to select "Canada" region...
