Lexus Gen 6 (2010+) iPod Compatibility
I recently tried out a couple of options with the USB port and Bluetooth in my 2010 RX350 (equipped with the Gen 6 Toyota entertainment / nav system). Thought I'd share a few compatibility notes:
Anyone else played with this?
- iPhone 3GS - USB OK - BT Audio OK - BT AVCRP FAIL
- iPod Nano 4G - USB OK - BT Audio N/A - BT AVCRP N/A
Anyone else played with this?
Hmm... I just bought a 2010 ES350 with NAV, and I can't get the USB connection to work with my iPhone 3GS. I get the "This accessory does not work with iPod- do you want to try airplane [non-phone] mode?" message. I don't want that, since the phone is successfully hooked up to the car via Bluetooth for calls. (Or is that the problem?)
Am I doing something wrong? I'd love to get the iPod controls on the NAV screen, which I assumed would work when I bought the car....

I tried the USB again, and simply ignored the airplane mode message. The iPhone now works fine via the NAV controls, and is charging via the USB. Nice. I can live with the unnecessary (and incorrect) warning every time I plug into the car. It's great to be able to access my iPhone's music via the NAV without any extra equipment.
