Door speaker upgrade issue
I just bought some 6.5" components and as i took apart the door housing i noticed it wasnt completely flat. How do i go about making this fit? Looks like it would be a real pain. Id like to keep the back side.
Heres my link with a few pictures. It doesnt cover the seperate tweeter install because I used the stock ones.. They sound real good when you have about 60 watts of RMS going to them, without any distortion. I hope this helps and good luck.

did you just cut the baffle out? Our baffles are different. Yours when you take it apart its completely flat with the housing. Mines isnt. I cant just do what you did because there would be way too much gap.

I dont know about the baffles being different. Try and post some pictures of what you are trying to do and the gap. Maybe we can help you figure something out, if you havent already.
Still havent solved my problems. I will post pictures up shortly. I have searched for ebay adapters, but the pics only show a drawn out one. Id like to see what the actual thing looks like before i order it.

the thing is i cant just cut out an adapte plate from mdf and stick it together with the baffle. It have to custom something to fill in the gap that would be left due to my baffle not being completely flat. It seems like your baffles are flat so you guys can just cut out a flat peice of mdf and attach it to your baffle without any gaps.
yeah i found it really troublesome. They are pioneers. Makes me want to give up and go with 4" components but i already bought 6 1/2. Anyone have any spare ones for cheap?
How cheap are you talking? I picked up a brand new set of 4" MB Quarts for $80 from a memeber here, if you want them come pick them up. Im not using them and would like my money back..

Your baffle is the same as ours. Ours are not flat either. When I add Larger speakers to an SC, GS, and others, I seperate the baffle in two. Then grind and cut the base of the baffle to be flat. Then I add a new wood baffle cover that holds the speaker.
